Debra Sloan Horsing Around Exhibition Invitation
That tireless powerhouse of BC ceramics, Debra Sloan, ceramist, author, historian and world traveller has an exhibition on one of her favourite themes, a subject that has inspired her since childhood, horses, but with Debra’s own touch. The exhibition continues to November 2 at the Gallery of BC Ceramics, Granville Island, Vancouver.

Paula Murray Exhibition Crossing Over
Paula Murray has a new exhibition: Crossing Over at Centre des arts, de la culture, et du patrimoine de Chelsea; 212 Chemin Old Chelsea, Chelsea, QC.
Dates: August 21 to September 14
Paula further explores themes of reality and truth:
Rooted in the relationship between material, process and meaning, this body of work explores my interest in the mysterious ways we come to know a truth. We live in an age of unparalleled access to information but what is fact, what is fiction; what is truth, what is spin?
In the transformation from clay to fired porcelain, the patterned fields of markings that emerge in the individual pieces suggest both an external and internal reality. Singular or grouped, they offer a metaphor for our inner and outer realities and the individual or collective experience of transformation.

Enid’s extensive award winning career and forms of art are internationally recognized. Her explorations have taken her from almost miniature sizes to gallery-filling installations. She pioneered porcelain work in Quebec and has developed major, multi-media, ceramic-based exhibitions.

Studio Ceramics Canada has posted a major page update on ceramic artist Keith Campbell. This new page more fully explores the range and changes of Keith’s work over the years since 1967, from his student works, through the elegant formality of his porcelain works of the ’80s and ’90s, to the humour and social and historical commentary of his most recent works. Enjoy the images of and the insights into the work and life of this major Canadian ceramic artist.

For those of you in the National Capital Region from May 22 to July 19 be sure to visit artist Paula Murray‘s solo installation exhibition at the Maison de la culture de Gatineau,. The installation of porcelain works will explore Paula’s continuing interest in the universal principles of interconnectedness.
